Booking Terms
Insurance & Coverage
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver The renter is insured for damage to the rental vehicle caused by a road accident, with no obligation to pay an insurance premium.
TP – Theft Protection The renter is insured in case of vehicle theft, unless the theft occurs due to negligence. Any stolen personal items inside the vehicle (e.g. cameras, travel bags, mobile phones) are not covered by any insurance.
PL / PLI – Third Party Liability Insurance The renter’s liability is covered up to €1,300,000 for death and bodily injury and up to €1,300,000 for property damage.
PAI – Personal Accident Insurance Passengers of the rental vehicle are insured for death or bodily injury in case of an accident up to €1,300,000. The driver is insured up to €5,000.
Driver Age Requirements
Minimum age:
21 years for vehicle categories A & B 23 years for vehicle categories C, C1, D, D1, K, K1, K2 25 years for all other categories
Please note:
Driver age is not checked at the time of booking. If you do not meet the age requirements, you will not be able to collect the vehicle and the full rental amount will be charged. There are no young or senior driver surcharges. Maximum rental age: 79 years.
Driving License
Drivers must hold a valid driving license for at least one (1) year. Accepted licenses are issued in the EU, Greece, USA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Israel, Russia, and Ukraine. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is required for all other countries.
Traffic Violations & Fines
Any traffic violations, fines, or administrative penalties incurred during the rental period are entirely the renter’s responsibility. If such penalties are not identified at the end of the rental period, they will be charged to the renter afterward.
Mileage
Unlimited mileage is included in all rates.
Taxes / VAT
All prices include 24% VAT (Value Added Tax).
Additional Drivers
One (1) additional driver may be registered free of charge. Up to three (3) drivers are allowed per rental (including the main driver). Additional cost: €3 per day per extra driver.
Roadside Assistance
24/7 Roadside Assistance is provided free of charge.
In case assistance is required, please contact our office directly. Outside office hours, calls are forwarded to our emergency mobile line.
Vehicle Category & Model Requests
Reservations are made for a vehicle group/category, which may include multiple models with similar characteristics. You may request a specific model after booking confirmation; we will deliver it only if available on the day of arrival.
If no vehicle from the booked category is available, we reserve the right to provide a higher category vehicle at no extra charge.
Vehicle Replacement
In case of an accident or breakdown that immobilizes the vehicle, it will be replaced within 24 hours from the time the incident is reported.
The company reserves the right to investigate the cause and may refuse replacement if the vehicle was used in violation of the rental terms.
Baby & Child Seats
We offer three types of child seats:

One (1) child seat is provided free of charge
Each additional seat costs €5 per day, payable upon arrival
Flight Delays
There are no additional charges for flight delays. Our staff monitor your arrival time, including last-minute flight changes, and will wait to deliver your vehicle.
Vehicle Condition
We guarantee delivery of a modern, safe, well-maintained vehicle.
All vehicles are thoroughly inspected by our trained mechanics and office staff before delivery.
Fuel Policy
#Option 1: Return as Collected
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup. Vehicles delivered outside office hours will have at least half a tank. Directions to the nearest gas station will be provided.
#Option 2: Full Tank on Pickup – Empty on Return
The renter pays for a full tank in advance. The vehicle should be returned as empty as possible. Unused fuel is non-refundable.
Lost Keys
The renter is responsible for all costs related to lost or damaged keys, including retrieval if keys are locked inside the vehicle.
Tire Damage
Non-repairable tires are not covered by insurance. If a tire is repairable, the renter may proceed with repair and the company will reimburse the cost.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation policies depend on the booking type:
Partially Prepaid Reservations Fully Prepaid Reservations
#Cancellation More Than 48 Hours Before Pickup
For partially prepaid bookings, the deposit will be fully refunded within approximately 5 working days, to the original payment card.
#Cancellation Within 48 Hours
The deposit is non-refundable.
#No-Show
If the vehicle is not collected and the booking is not canceled in advance, the deposit is non-refundable.
#Grace Period & Administration Fee
If you cancel before booking confirmation, the prepaid amount is refunded. If you cancel within 2 hours of confirmation and pickup is less than 48 hours away, the prepaid amount will be refunded minus a €30 administration fee.
Booking Confirmation & Modifications
After booking, you will receive a confirmation voucher. It is mandatory to verify all booking details (vehicle category, transmission type, features, etc.).
Bookings cannot be canceled at the pickup location if all terms are met; such cases are treated as no-shows.
#Modify a Booking
You may request changes anytime via [bookings@zota.gr](mailto:bookings@zota.gr), free of charge. We will confirm availability within 12 hours.
If the modification affects the total rental price, the prepaid amount remains unchanged. Any overpayment will be refunded once the change is confirmed.
Rental prices may vary closer to pickup. The confirmed booking price is guaranteed, but changes in rental duration may affect the daily rate.
Rental Extension & Early Return
Extensions are subject to availability and company approval. 1-hour grace period applies if approved. Next 3 hours: €10 per hour Over 3 hours: charged as one full rental day
No insurance coverage applies beyond the agreed return time without approval.
Early returns do not qualify for refunds on unused days.
Vehicle Delivery & Collection
We offer delivery and collection at airports, ports, and selected hotels. After-hours service (22:00–08:00) is subject to a €30 charge, payable upon pickup.
Ferry Transport & Cross-Border Rentals
Transporting the vehicle by ferry or driving outside Crete is strictly prohibited. All insurance coverage is void, and the renter is fully liable for any damage.
One-Way Rentals
One-way rentals are available upon arrangement at rental start and must be confirmed in the rental contract.
Accidents
In case of an accident:
Contact our 24/7 assistance line immediately Do not leave the scene If unreachable, contact the police Failure to report the incident makes the renter liable for all damages Police/ambulance must be contacted in case of injury If the other party leaves, record the license plate or take photos
Driving under the influence of alcohol or violating traffic laws is strictly prohibited.
Vehicle Use & Liability
All insurance coverage applies only if the renter complies with the rental terms.
Damage must be reported within 2 hours. Failure to do so makes the renter fully liable for repair costs.
The company may claim full compensation in cases including (but not limited to):
Driving on unauthorized, unpaved, off-road areas (e.g. Balos) Traffic violations Improper parking Racing, rallies, competitions Commercial use (taxi, courier) Unauthorized or unlicensed drivers Driving under alcohol or drugs Negligent or intentional damage (bodywork, doors, clutch, interior, animal damage, wind damage)
